Our Maplewood blend is carefully curated to highlight the unique flavors of coffees from Colombia, Guatemala, Tanzania, and Brazil.

COLOMBIA / FINCA PALMICHAL (La Coqueta, Genova, Quindío): This Colombian coffee delivers the sweet and tart blackberry notes found in Maplewood Cold Brew. Grown high in the Central Andes, Finca Palmichal is run by third-generation farmer Don Atilano Giraldo, who also serves as a senator representing Quindío. The farm spans 53 hectares with around 350,000 trees and benefits from two harvest seasons due to the region’s unique climate. Coffee is washed and mechanically dried, with eco-conscious practices like water recycling and pulp composting. The farm also supports women workers and provides housing and meals.

GUATEMALA / ACODIHUE Manos de Mujer (Cuchumatan, Huehuetenango): Grown by indigenous women farmers near the Mexican border, Manos de Mujer is a standout lot from the ACODIHUE co-op. These women, many widowed by civil war or left behind by migrating men, now own their land and receive community support including vegetable gardening and dental programs. Only 22% of ACODIHUE’s coffee carries the Manos de Mujer name, representing its highest quality. This coffee was purchased using Living Income Pricing to ensure producers are paid fairly.

TANZANIA / KORONGO PEABERRY (Mbozi, Mbeya & Mbinga, Southern Highlands): Korongo, meaning flamingo in Swahili, is an 84+ SCA cup sourced through Sucafina’s IMPACT-verified, vertically integrated model. Coffee is grown in the Southern Highlands and hand-processed by smallholder farmers using varied methods. Peaberry beans—a natural mutation—are sorted out during milling and are known for their density and sweetness. Farmers also intercrop with corn, beans, and ginger to diversify income.

BRAZIL / CASCAVEL VERMELHA (Various Smallholder Farms): Scoring 84+ SCA, Cascavel Vermelha showcases the best of Brazil’s coffee through selective sourcing by Brazilian QC professionals. Produced by smallholders, this coffee provides reliable income and greater market access. The blend is named after the rattlesnake (Cascavel in Portuguese)—misunderstood but essential, much like the resilient farmers behind this coffee.

I’m usually not a coldbrew drinker but I had to try it. Needless to say I loved it and will be ordering again! The recommended recipe allows for about 3 batches or 9cups of cold brew so I definitely went through it way too fast! Possibly selling a bigger batch would be awesome ❤️
